Job Description :
 Bagger Operator



  • Must be able to produce 5+ good bags per minute

  • Must follow directions from foreman

  • Must hold onto bags as they are being pushed out of bagger so they are the correct size for loading in the trailers

  • Must watch product level in surge bin so it does not run empty or get to full. If surge bin low level light comes on, operator needs to check the preshredder to verify that it is functioning properly

  • Must remain at the bagger work station wutil relieved by other personnel or if there is an equipment problem

  • Must inform foreman of any safety or mechanical problems

  • Must be able to make adjustments on computer based controls

  • Must verify that bags are correctly sealed as they pass through automatic sealer

  • Must verify that the scale is zeroed when scale is empty

  • Reuse reclaim bags

  • Before starting your turn at the bagger, put enough bags at the bagging station to keep you supplied for the 2 hours that you will be bagging

  • Verify the correct bags are being used -25 lb or 30 lb, stabilized, loose fill, etc.


Trailer Loader/Pallet Stacker





  • Must be able to stack 5+ bags per minute without help

  • Must keep track of which row is being stacked at all times

  • Must correct number of bags in each row or pallet

  • Must mark correct number of bags in each row on the tally sheet and sign initials after each row

  • Tally sheet must be current before stacker leaves trailer for any reason

  • If tally sheet is incorrect, the stacker may be asked to verify row count by digging bags out of trailer and verifying the count

  • Must tape any bags with holes in them or any bags that are not properly sealed

  • Notify foreman if bags are not of the correct weight

  • When palletizing, verify pallets being used are not broken and are not the correct dimensions

  • Must be able to use pallet jack

  • When both baggers are operating and the bagger surge bin gets low, one of the two stackers needs to set up the next trailer to be loaded and sweep the surrounding floor
